Our Kindergarten class is a full day program beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m. each school day. In Kindergarten, our curriculum consists of The Purposeful Design Bible Series. This uses Bible verses, paraphrases, music and workbooks to teach the Old Testament through the New Testament. It also teaches everyday applications into the Kindergarten child's daily life.
We also use The Purposeful Design Math Program. All students receive their own workbooks and do daily Math lessons. We start with classifying and sorting and continue through patterns, counting, numbers 0-31, shapes, money, time, addition, subtraction, and measurement.
The Language Arts Program is the Rowland Superkids Reading Program. This program takes the class through every letter in the alphabet, teaching the recognition, the sound, and the correct way to write the letter. The program teaches the blending of the sounds to make words and the students are reading books by the middle of the school year. The program also teaches the other components of reading which include comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary.
Children registering for Kindergarten must be 5 by August 1st.
