New Drop off Procedures effective December 6th

With the Winter months approaching in an effort to help keep our families warm and out of the weather elements.  We will be opening the doors at 8:50am for entrance into the building.  We will no longer be taking temperatures as each child arrives at the doors.  Parents should use the hand sanitizer at the designated stations to sanitizer their child’s hands prior to walking them to class.  Your child’s teacher will be taking their temperature when they arrive to their classroom.  Parents should form a line in front of the steps leading into the downstairs school area.  At 9am the school doors will be opened and parents should escort their child to their classroom.  Hopefully this new process helps to check in families safely, faster, efficiently and keeps everyone nice and toasty warm.

Announcements

The Christmas Program will take place on Friday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. Our full day and afternoon Pre-K & Kindergarten students will be in class so families will proceed directly to the Sanctuary.  Morning students are encouraged to return with their families at 12:45 p.m. Students returning may be dropped off in their classroom and families may proceed to the Sanctuary.  Morning students must have an adult stay for our program if they return.  All students will perform and then return to their classroom.  All students will be released from the classroom to an adult on their pick-up list.  Families are then invited to join us in Fellowship Hall for light refreshments and or begin their Christmas break. There will be NO After Care on December 17th.   All children must be picked up at 3 p.m.

We wish all Messiah families a blessed and beautiful Christmas season.

Start a Conversation!

Who celebrates their birthday on December 25th?

Can you tell me about a story you heard at school today?

What did you explore in the Science Center today?

How were you a good friend today?

What are the letters in your name?

Is a book that is non-fiction full of true information?

Is a book that is fiction imaginary?

Can we sing your Christmas program songs together?

Learning

Onsite Field Trip from The Works

We are excited to announce The Works will be onsite providing our students with a learning hands- on stem experience on Oct 22nd.  Be sure to sign your child's permission slip and return it along with the $5 participation fee by Oct, 22nd

Please  send your child a labeled water bottle each day. In an effort to reduce the spread of germs, the drinking fountains have been disabled.  Your child is encouraged to bring a water bottle so that they can have access to water at all times throughout their day.

I am so excited to announce that we will be having our Halloween parties on Oct.29th at 2pm.  Students will be permitted to wear a costume to school.  Please keep in mind that they will need to be able to use the restroom during the day when selecting a costume.

Please check with your child's teachers for specifics on donation requests  and volunteer opportunities within your child’s classroom!!

With the cold and flu season among us, amidst an ongoing pandemic,

Please help us to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy by keeping our children at home when they are sick.  Please do not send your child to school with a cough or runny nose. While I know that it is inconvenient to have to keep your child home from school, it is important that we all do our part at keeping our school healthy and as germ free as possible !!
