Amy Smith

Education – I am a graduate of Watkins Memorial High School and also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Life Science with a minor in Visual Arts from Otterbein College.
Experience - This is my sixteenth year at Messiah Christian School! I previously taught 5 years at Hosanna Lutheran Childhood Center in Pataskala and 1 year at Etna United Methodist Church’s Mom’s Day Out. I was also a substitute preschool, elementary and middle school teacher. I enjoy working with children and love seeing their growth and development throughout the school year.
Although I have retired from teaching, I have remained as the school Webmaster. I maintain the school website and also find ways to incorporate technology into our learning and play. I also occasionally sub and work on special projects around the school.
Family - I have been married to my husband Matthew for 33 years. Matt is a Columbus Police Officer who is retiring this year after 31 years. We have three children: Cameron, Caitlyn and Carson. My oldest son, Cameron and his wife, Jordan, live in Mount Vernon where he is an Assistant Principal and Coach. They have a 2 year old boy and a new baby girl. My daughter, Caitlyn and her husband Doug, live here in Reynoldsburg where Cat is a school-based Physical Therapist. They are expecting a baby boy. I will soon have 3 grandchildren! My youngest son, Carson is a Radiologic Technician at OSU East and is now married to Sami. We have 1 dog. Our family likes sports and playing games together. We enjoy family vacations, especially the beach.
